ISLAM AND CONSUMPTIONT OF PIG MEAT (Pork)

“He has only forbidden your carrion blood and pork and what has been consecrated to other than Allah. But anyone who is forced to eat, without desiring it or going to excess in it commits no crime. Allah is ever forgiving, most merciful”.
“Surat Al Baqara, verse 173”

Pork and its harmful effects on health

Eating pork meat was clearly forbidden in Quran. Recently we have many evidences for the harm that still persists despite of all the precautions taken.

Medical Miracles of Qur’an

8.MAN in HiGH ALTiTUDES

Almost 100 years ago, medical researches started address the functions of the human body when rising up in high altitudes, and the effect of being at high atmosphere.  Aero- and space medicine gives so much details of this issue, in which the dyspnea is explained in two main causes:
1-    Less oxygen rates in high altitudes.
2-    Decrease of air pressure.

A man came to the prophet, with a dead bones and ask him O Mohammed do you say that Allah (God) will bring me back to life after i become like this dead Bones. Then Allah (God) reply with this verse in the holy Qur’an:

Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. (Quran 75:4)

This emphasis on finger print has a very special meaning, this is because every one’s finger print is unique to himself, every person who is alive or who has ever lived in this world, has a set of unique finger prints, that is why the finger prints are accepted as a very important identity exclusive to the owner, and it is used for this purpose around the World.

The Birth of a Human Being

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

Many diverse subjects are mentioned in the Qur’an while also inviting people to believe. Sometimes the heavens, sometimes animals, and sometimes plants are mentioned as evidence of Allah’s existence. In many of these verses, people are called upon to consider their own creation. They are often reminded how man came into the world, which stages he has passed through, and what his essence is:
It is We Who have created you. Why, then, do you not accept the truth? Have you ever considered that [seed] which you emit? Is it you who create it? Or are We the Creator? (Qur’an, 56:57-59)
The miracle of man’s creation is emphasised in many verses. Some of the information within these verses is so detailed that it was impossible for anyone living in the 7th century to have known it. Examples of these are as follows:
1. Man is not created from the entire semen, but only a very small portion of it (sperm).
2. It is the male that determines the sex of the baby.
3. The human embryo adheres to the mother’s uterus like a leech.
4. The embryo develops in three dark regions in the uterus.
The items of information just quoted were far above the level of learning of the people living at that time. The discovery of these facts could only become possible by the technology attained in the 20th century.

The Earth’s Atmosphere in AlQuran

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

“By the sky which returns.” (Quran 86:11)
“[He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling…”
(Quran 2:22)
In the first verse Allah swears by the sky(1)  and its function of ‘returning’ without specifying what it ‘returns.’ In Islamic doctrine, a divine oath signifies the magnitude of importance of a special relation to the Creator, and manifests His majesty and the supreme Truth in a special way.
The second verse describes the Divine Act that made the sky a ‘ceiling’ for the dwellers of earth.
Let us see what modern atmospheric science has to say about the role and function of the sky.
The atmosphere is a word which denotes all the air surrounding the earth, from the ground all the way up to the edge from which space starts.  The atmosphere is composed of several layers, each defined because of the various phenomena which occur within the layer.

Scintific Facts Mentioned in the Qur’an

Monday, July 23rd, 2012

This note will show the scientific facts mentioned in The Quran.

I have explained everything in detail and with reference!

The Quran is the Book believed by Muslims to be The Word of God!

It was revealed 1400 years ago and not even a letter of the original sent to Prophet Muhammad has been changed till today!

01. Big Bang

Do not the Unbeliever see That the heavens and earth Were joined together (as one Unit of Creation), before We clove them asunder?….
Quran (21:30)

This explains the Big Bang

02. At the Beginning The Universe was smoke

Scientists agree that before the galaxies in the universe were formed, celestial matter was initially in the form of gaseous matter. In short, huge gaseous matter or clouds were present before the formation of the galaxies. To describe initial celestial matter, the word ‘smoke’ is more appropriate than gas. The following Qur’anic verse refers to this state of the universe by the word dukhaan which means smoke.

Moreover, He Comprehended in His design the sky, and it had been (as) smoke….
Quran (41:11)

03. Shape of The Earth is spherical

In early times, people believed that the earth was flat. For centuries, men were afraid to venture out too far, for fear of falling off the edge! Sir Francis Drake was the first person who proved that the earth is spherical when he sailed around it in 1597. Consider the following Qur’anic verse regarding the alternation of day and night:

“Seest thou not that Allah merges Night into Day and He merges Day into Night?”

Quran (31:29)

Merging here means that the night slowly and gradually changes to day and vice versa. This phenomenon can only take place if the earth is spherical. If the earth was flat, there would have been a sudden change from night to day and from day to night. The following verse also alludes to the spherical shape of the earth:

“He created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): He makes the Night overlap the Day, and the Day overlap the Night.”
Quran (39:5)

The Arabic word used here is Kawwara meaning ‘to overlap’ or ‘to coil’– the way a turban is wound around the head. The overlapping or coiling of the day and night can only take place if the earth is spherical. The earth is not exactly round like a ball, but geo-spherical, i.e. it is flattened at the poles. The following verse contains a description of the earth’s shape:

Comments on the Message of the Qur’an by Muhammad Asad:

Monday, July 23rd, 2012

A. Shankar’s   Nickname: wrapped_one

Location: NSW Australia

In My Own Words:I am a pre-med student who has a very grim future ahead of him

The Message of the Qur’an by Muhammad Asad:

I find Asad’s interpretation to be the most bona-fide and coherent, it is scrupulously referenced so he does not give his opinion rather quotes some of the greatest scholars after the manifestation of the Quran such as Zamakshari, Ibn Kathir as well as Qurtubi to name a few.

Asad’s translation is the best, undoutedly this version supercedes all others. I have read this particular version and as I know there are various in circulation (esp with Yusuf Ali) I suggest you get this version.

If you are interested in the Quran, or anyone for that matter even one who understands proper Arabic I still suggest you get this book. It is a key in understanding the Quran. Regardless of whether you know or are oblivious to the Arabic tongue. THe Quran is a legacy of humanity. Regardless of whether you are a Muslim or not it has impacted on Human thought and has changed social norms as we once knew it.

God’s Final Revelation

Thursday, July 19th, 2012

By Aisha Stacey

Muslims believe the Quran to be God’s final revelation.  They believe it is the literal word of God, revealed over many years, to His final prophet, Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him.  The Quran is full of wisdom.  It is full of the wonder and glory of God, and a testament to His mercy and justice.  It is not a history book, a storybook, or a scientific textbook, although it contains all of those genres.  The Quran is God’s greatest gift to humanity – it is a book like no other.  In the second verse of the second chapter of the Quran, God describes the Quran by calling it a book whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are pious, righteous, and fear God.  (Quran 2:2)

The Quran is core to Islam.  Believing in it is a requirement.  One who does not believe in the Quran, in its entirety, cannot claim to be a Muslim.
