Adiba Herat and her two daughters went to China in 2017 and disappeared there.
This was the last time that her husband and young son saw her in Kazakhstan, hiding for more than a year in one of the famous detention camps that spread in Xinjiang. America says that up to two million people, almost all of them Muslims, have been put there arbitrarily, as there are accusations of torture. The wife has now left, but officials have taken her passport. Her family says she is stuck in China with her daughters, and her husband has no way to contact them.
