Be just: that is next to piety.\u201d\u00a0<em>(Soorat Al-Maa\u2019idah, 5:8)<\/em>\u00a0That is, do not let your enmity for your enemies exceed the limits and turn you away from justice in either words or actions.<\/li>\n<li>It strictly forbids treachery and betrayal when dealing with the enemy:<br \/>\nIslam forbids treachery and betrayal even against the enemy, as the Qur\u2019an states, \u201cAllah does not love treacherous people.\u201d\u00a0<em>(Soorat Al-Anfaal, 8:58)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>It strictly forbids mutilation of dead bodies of enemies:<br \/>\nIt declares mutilation of corpses strictly impermissible, as the Prophet \ufdfa\u00a0once ordered, \u201cDo not mutilate people.\u201d\u00a0<em>(Saheeh Muslim: 1731)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>It prohibits the killing of non-combatants, destroying the environment and causing corruption in the land:<br \/>\nUpon despatching a military expedition to the northern borders of the Roman territory, Abu Bakr As-Siddeeq\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"isymbol\" title=\"May Allah be pleased with him\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newmuslimguide.com\/sites\/all\/libraries\/tinymce\/jscripts\/tiny_mce\/plugins\/emotions\/img\/radhi.png\" alt=\"May Allah be pleased with him\" border=\"0\" \/>, the first Rightly-Guided Caliph and the best of all the Prophet\u2019s companions, addressed its leader, Usaamah ibn Zayd\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"isymbol\" title=\"May Allah be pleased with him\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newmuslimguide.com\/sites\/all\/libraries\/tinymce\/jscripts\/tiny_mce\/plugins\/emotions\/img\/radhi.png\" alt=\"May Allah be pleased with him\" border=\"0\" \/>, saying, \u201cDo not let your army kill young children, old people or women. Do not uproot or burn palms or cut down fruitful trees. Do not slaughter sheep, cows or camels, except for food.
